La 90ª edición de los Premios de la Academia Oscar, el más alto honor de la industria cinematográfica en Estados Unidos, se realizará el domingo 4 de marzo en el Teatro Dolby en Los Ángeles, en una ceremonia que será encabezada por el presentador de televisión y comediante Jimmy Kimmel.
La cinta The Shape of Water ("La forma del agua") del director mexicano Guillermo del Toro tiene 13 nominaciones, y es amplia favorita en las categorías: Mejor Película y Mejor Director para alzarse con la estatuilla dorada, mientras que en la categoría al Mejor Actor Principal, el favoritismo se lo lleva el versátil actor Británico Gary Oldman.
